Four figure compensation secured following facial injury at work

A man was struck in the face by a hydraulic jack whilst working as a labourer to a main contractor of a work site.

Along with a colleague, our client was trying to remove a bolt from a concrete core which had been cemented into place by previous contractors. A hydraulic jack was used to try and ease the bolt out of place; however the pressure within it built and pushed the jack towards our client, striking him in the face.

He required surgery due to the injuries to his face, which included fractures to his cheekbones and nose and soft tissue facial injuries, which also resulted in him having to take time off work.

Through the hard work of Irwin Mitchell’s accidents at work team in Sheffield, the Defendant admitted liability and £6,700 was rewarded in compensation.

The sympathetic handling of my case restored my confidence

May I thank you for the way my accident claim has been handled, after my accident my confidence was very low indeed but the sympathetic handling of my case restored my confidence.
